Some examples of legal waterways are:

Some examples of illegal waterways are:

  • My farm dam

  • A stretch of the Umgeni River that only myself and my neighbours have access to
  • Letsibogo
  • Mteri

When you upload a catch, the app records a fairly accurate (Not accurate enough to pin-point your secret spot(s)) location, which will help the competition moderators assess whether your catch is valid or not.

Certified Scales Only

Any scale that has a Keepnet Competition approved sticker may be used to weigh fish in this competition. For example, if you currently fish the MLF Series in KZN, you may use the scale you are using for that series.

Should you not have a certified scale, you may send your scale into any of the following sites for approval. Please note that any of these parties may choose to charge you for the calibration/approval of your scale. This fee is for your account and is not included in the registration fee of this competition.

No Bank Angling Permitted

Any motor -driven, electric-powered or self-propelled floating vessels are allowed, such as:

  • 17ft Thunderbird with 200hp outboard
  • Tug10 with 36lb tiller arm Watersnake
  • Paddle-ski
  • Kickboat

Artificial Baits Only

Only traditional artificial lures are allowed. Livebait such as kurper and earthworms are not permitted!

Strictly Catch & Release

Your catch video must clearly depict your fish swimming away in a healthy manner. Please use any means available to you to take good care of your fish and to resuscitate them if necessary before recording your catch video. The health of your fish will be at the discretion of the competition moderators based on the visuals available in your catch video.

Cheating

Anyone found or reported to be cheating and found guilty within reasonable doubt will be disqualified and banned from the competition indefinitely. The Keepnet.co head office will assist in determining whether a fish is submitted correctly or not. Please clarify any concerns with the competition moderators, should you have any concerns!

Registration & Payments

There is no cut-off date/time for registrations. You may enter the competition at any time during the competition dates. However, a payment must reflect 24 hours prior to an angler submitting a fish, so it is recommended that one registers and completes  payment 48 hours prior.
